Mission The Concern: A Crisis of the Heart in Teaching Most people can remember a teacher or a principal who made a difference - changed a young life in a significant way. Educators have always played a pivotal role in developing children into responsible, knowledgeable and committed citizens, workers and community leaders. Unfortunately, there is a crisis among teachers as they are faced with increasing discipline problems, waning student motivation, inadequate support and other symptoms of our changing society. Some educators actually leave the profession; others "leave" by distancing themselves from their students or losing their enthusiasm for the subjects they teach. When this happens, everyone loses: teachers, students, parents and the community. The Mission: Tarrant County Courage to Teach Exists to Provide professional and personal renewal to educators in the greater Tarrant County area. Encourage the community to support educators in ways that are career-sustaining. Support a community of educators and others who are committed to vocation based upon personal identity and integrity. The Response: Encourage Educators Through Renewal We can help renew educators by providing them with opportunities to reflect upon their lives and work and to participate in the support and challenge that comes from a vibrant community of colleagues. CTT offerings include:
