One Day Retreat for Leaders in Education, Business, Government and Non-profit

This one-day retreat is an opportunity for community leaders across vocations to come together for a day of conversation and reflection about the qualities of personal leadership. Topics will include the impact of power, leading from a center of integrity, reflective practice for leaders, and leadership as vocation. The next retreat is scheduled for Friday, June 4, 2004.

Leadership is Not for the Faint of Heart
Whether we are entrusted with a school, a program, a district, a business, an organization or another grouping of individuals, we know full well the challenges. How do we handle the trust placed in us to guide others and institutions? How do we create environments that allow others to grow and produce? How do we take responsibility for the shadow side of our leadership? How do we develop the internal resources to continue our lives of service over the long haul?

"A leader is someone with the power to project either shadow or light upon some part of the world, and upon the lives of the people who dwell there." - Parker J. Palmer, PhD

Courage to Lead brings me closer to awareness of what my 'highest and best use' is and will be and helps me to have the courage to stay true to that despite fears and uncertainties." - prior Courage to Lead participant
